The Toronto Maple Leafs have been trying to keep their prospect pool afloat all while still contending.

Today it appears two of their prospects have graduated from juniors and made their way to pro hockey for the upcoming season.

From Junior To The Pros

Two Maple Leaf prospects are not listed on their junior rosters heading into the 2023-24 season.

Ty Voit and Braeden Kressler have both been left off their respective junior teams.

Both players were going into what would've been their 5th season of junior hockey.

The pair of 20-year-olds are likely to turn pro but could end up on different teams potentially.

Where To Next For Leafs Young Prospects

Braeden Kressler finished his final season in junior hockey with the Flint Firebirds playing 47 games.

Kessler is an undrafted forward who ended the season with 52 points and 25 goals in those 47 games.

However, there is some uncertainty on where Kessler may spend next season.

Some reports think his best option would be to start in the ECHL and then make the transition to the AHL at a later date.

For Ty Voit, the scenario is a bit more straightforward. In his final OHL season with the Sarnia Sting Voit put up 105 total points and 24 goals.

He is more likely to have a fast track right to the NHL due to his statistics and the fact that he was a 5th-round pick.

As both of these players start their journey into pro hockey it will be interesting to see how their games evolve and grow in the minor leagues.

Eventually, the hope is we will all get to see these guys make plays under the bright lights of the NHL.
