As people await the Department of Player Safety's decision, Tim Peel, a former NHL referee, went on a Twitter rant about the dangerous hit on Matthew Knies.

Leafs fans are eagerly awaiting the DoPS' decision, and Peel seemed to find the situation amusing.
He wrote several comments that weren't well received by the fans:
This is pretty bold, as the hit was clearly dangerous.
But as we saw with Andrew Cogliano's broken neck in the first round, even if it's dangerous, there may be no consequences at all for Bennett.
