Alex Ovechkin Reveals the Player Who Got His Classic Tinted Visor Banned
Having been in the league as long as he has, Alex Ovechkin has seen lots of changes.
He's worn many different iterations of Capitals jerseys, and he's seen the sport around him change quickly.
One change he was less fond of was when he was forbidden from wearing his trademark tinted mirrored visor in the early parts of his career.
In my opinion, this is just unilaterally awesome, but one big-name player decided he would make it everybody's problem and petition against it.
In a recent interview, Ovechkin revealed that none other than Martin Brodeur was the force behind the removal of mirrored and tinted visors from the league.
Brodeur started crying to the league that he couldn't see my eyes. What the hell is he talking about?
Clearly the special visor wasn't some sort of cheat, as Ovechkin has scored nearly 800 goals with no tint!
