BREAKING : NHL Brothers Refuse to Wear Pride Jerseys
Two famed NHL Brothers are joining in a growing refusal to wear Pride jerseys for warm-ups.
Staal's Refuse to Wear Pride Jersey's
Brothers Eric and Marc Staal decided against wearing pride jerseys for warm-ups for the Florida Panthers in their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In a joint statement, both Staal brothers expressed their decision not to wear the jersey, citing religious beliefs.
The Panthers stated earlier that they supported the jerseys, meant to signal support for LGBT+ rights, with Head Coach Paul Maurice saying on the initiative,
We have decided, and rightfully so, to move forward with it and support it and celebrate it.
The Panthers, at this time, have made no statement on the Staal brothers.
