This will be the first time in nearly a quarter century that Toronto has seen an all-star game!
According to a source from Star contributing columnist Nick Kypreos, the Maple Leafs are closing in on hosting the annual event at Scotiabank Arena for the first time since 2000.
When the NHL's premier event landed in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre, Leafs captain Mats Sundin and defenceman Dmitry Yushkevich represented Team World while goalie Curtis Joseph played against them on Team North America.
NHL greats like Martin Brodeur, Ray Bourque, Paul Kariya, Mark Messier, Mike Modano, Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstrom, Jaromr Jágr, Pavel Bure and current Leafs president Brendan Shanahan took the ice in Toronto.
While the 2024 all-star game may not be as legendary as that of 2000s, it will still be a joy for Torontonians to watch!
