The Montreal Canadiens will officially draft at the top of the list in the upcoming draft to be held at the Bell Centre in July.
In a press conference after the lottery, Kent Hughes mentioned that he is not closing the door on trading his first pick.
"In life, we're always better off listening to everyone. If we get calls, we're going to listen, but it's not in our plans to trade it."
"If we want to establish our culture, it's important that we draft players with character, leaders, team players."
- Kent Hughes
