With the departure of Shea Weber, Jeff Petry and Ryan Poehling, the Montreal Canadiens saved a few bucks on the payroll.
Now, with the acquisition of Dadonov, Matheson and the signing of Juraj Slafkovsky, Rem Pitlick and Samuel Montembeault, the Habs are officially in trouble.
Kent Hughes is $250,000 under the salary cap and must sign their new young player Kirby Dach.
Also, considering that the Canadiens GM is looking to acquire a right-handed defenseman for next season, there could be a lot of movement in the coming weeks.
The new two-year, one-way deal that Samuel Montembeault signed with the Canadiens is worth $1 million a year.
