As reported by my colleague Christian Matte of Marqueur.com, advanced stats specialist Todd Cordell summed up the case of Ben Chiarot during the playoffs.
Among Panthers defensemen, Chiarot allowed the most scoring chances to the opposition. His shorthanded stats were also tough.
The former Habs man ranks last in terms of shot quality for.
In fact, he only played 14 minutes in game four yesterday.
Finally, he has only registered one assist in ten playoff games
In short, a disaster for the Panthers.
And why does Kent Hughes look like a genius? Because he acquired a 2023 first round pick (unprotected), a 2022 fourth round pick and prospect Ty Smilanic in return for Chiarot.
Considering that Chiarot could sign with the Habs this summer, this is a mind-blowing deal for the Canadiens.
