Elliotte Friedman Shares John Klingberg's Potential Next Destination
Elliotte Friedman is one of the best respected NHL Insiders out there. When he makes a statement, most of the time it turns out true.
He said today that he predicts John Klingberg, who signed a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks with the intention of being traded at the deadline, will finish the season in Edmonton.
Edmonton needs more experienced defenseman, so this does make sense. At half retained, his $3.5-million cap hit is relatively affordable, and he has playoff pedigree.
Klingberg went to the cup finals in 2020 with the Stars, and maybe he could be the piece that gets the Oilers into a real conversation for contention.
