Friedman Reveals The Teams That Are Serious About Acquiring Jakob Chychrun
Jakob Chychrun is one of the hottest trade chips on the market. He's a genuine first pairing defenseman on a contract that only pays him $4.6-million annually. For a contending team, he'd be an absolute coup.
Hockey insider Elliotte Friedman spoke today about the true contenders for Chychrun.
It appears that the Buffalo Sabres may be a real player in these sweepstakes. They have a ton of young assets, and Chychrun would help them build one of the best young d-cores in the league.
Columbus has equally inquired seriously apparently, which would make sense if they could swap out the disastrous Erik Gudbranson for Chychrun.
St. Louis, Los Angeles, and Edmonton are all in the conversation as well. Toronto would make perfect sense, but it appears the asking price is just too high for Kyle Dubas.
Finally, Chychrun's hometown team, the Florida Panthers simply don't have the assets to pull off a trade, although they could really use him.
Where do you think Chychrun will end up?
