According to what Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports in his latest 32Thoughts, a decision regarding Martin St. Louis' future in Montreal will be made at the end of the season.
"Martin St. Louis, on when he makes his coaching decision next year: 'I'm thinking at the end of the season. Right now, it wouldn't be fair to the players, to anybody, for me to focus on that. Things take care of themselves, we just have to keep the focus on what we're trying to do right now." I think we know what Canadiens fans want." - Elliotte Friedman
You will have understood that the decision comes from Martin and not from Kent Hughes, who wants to extend him on the spot.
On the other hand, as Friedman mentions, the majority of fans want to see St. Louis with the Habs next season.
