Veteran forward Nick Foligno recently signed with the Boston Bruins over returning to the Maple Leafs or signing to play with his brother in Minnesota, and many people are wondering why he chose to do so.

According to a recent TSN interview, Foligno said that his daughter's life was saved at Boston's Children's Hospital, and that had at least some reason on why he chose to sign with the Bruins.

Foligno's daughter, Milana, underwent surgery back in 2019, which caused him to miss time during the regular season. She was born with a heart defect that was repaired weeks after her birth, and it was likely that the surgeries were related.

Foligno joins a Boston Bruins team that are perennial contenders in hopes of winning his first Stanley Cup. He will bring a great veteran leadership to Boston's locker room, in hopes of a deeper playoff run.
