Former 12th overall pick signs with the Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to a professional trial contract with defenceman Calvin de Haan.
A first-round pick, 12th overall in 2009, de Haan is a veteran of 520 NHL games with the Islanders, Hurricanes and Blackhawks.
The 31-year-old veteran has spent the past three seasons in Chicago. He had eight points in 68 games during the most recent campaign.
