Gary Bettman announces a major increase in the salary cap next season

According to what The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun reports, after a four-hour Board of Governors meeting, Gary Bettman told the assembled media in New York that the balance of the escrow will likely be paid back at the end of the season by the players.
If that is likely to be the case, the salary cap will jump by about $4 million this summer.
On the other hand, if he is not fully paid, the cap will increase by a single million.
Quite honestly, this is great news for teams!
