Saturday, October 7th, was the final night of preseason hockey in the NHL. It was also the final match up before the regular season starts for rival teams the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild.

The Wild won 4-0 in a low shooting game that saw 60 minutes in penalties being handed out including Mason Marchment and Brad Duhaime each getting 17 minutes in penalties each.

The Big Tilt

After words were exchanged throughout the game the game became more intense. After Minnesota scored to make it 4-0 Jamie Benn and Pat Maroon lined up at centre and had a big boy bought.

It was quite the even scrap, but the smart money would be on fans of either team claiming their player won the fight. The bought featured just under 500 pounds of hockey players. Each player was awarded just five minutes for fighting.

More in the game

The animosities started early in the first with both Ryan Hartman and Jamie Benn taking unsportsmanlike penalties. After numerous hits and chirps the game got out of hand after the fourth Wild goal. Thirty-five seconds of action after Benn and Maroon were in the box each for five minutes, Mason Marchment and Brad Duhaime each fought.

The refs then decided to calm everything in the game by tossing both Marchment and Duhaime from the game. Although the game was still intense afterwards it ended without further majors.
