It is currently the playoffs for the Usports, in a recent playoff game, tensions rose to the point of one team refusing to shake hands at the end of the game. An outrageous incident occurred during a semifinals game between the University of Alberta, and PEI.

The University of Alberta refused to shake hands at the end of the game

The incident that caused this issue happened when the University of Alberta's goalie was punched in the face while Alberta was up 4-0.

This incident resulted in Alberta refusing to shake hands with PEI, which resulted in the UPEI crowd booing Alberta off the ice, while throwing trash on the ice.

Both sides of the argument can be understood, shaking hands at the end of a game shows respect and sportsmanship, it is clear that Alberta felt disrespected by PEI for their actions.

Fighting a goalie while down by 4 shows a complete lack of respect and sportsmanship. However, one can also look from PEI's perspective and understand that tensions do get high during the playoffs, especially during the semifinals.

Alberta got the last laugh during this game, by winning 4-1 and moving on to the championship game.
