Is the NHL Rigging Games in Favour of the Leafs? A Reporter Definitely Thinks So
The Maple Leafs are one of the best teams in hockey right now. It is this expected that they'll outplay teams that are destined for a lottery pick. Despite this, they are now being called out for preferential treatment by league officials.
Buffalo Sabres reporter Mike Harrington took to Twitter in order to explain his sentiments of this supposed preferential treatment:
They call that a goal for Giordano. That's a joke. That's an only-in-Toronto call.
Clearly, Harrington hadn't done much research on the topic, as his very own Buffalo Sabres were awarded a similar goal at their winter classic against the Maple Leafs.
If the League really wanted to rig in favour of the Toronto Maple Leafs, they probably would have made the second round of the playoffs by now
