It doesn't take a genius to recognize the mess going on in Vancouver. The team lost their captain and head coach in a month, and are now trying to pick up the pieces.

Likely future captain Elias Pettersson was a special guest on this weeks' iteration of the 32 Thoughts podcast, and he revelled in honour of his good friend and now former teammate Bo Horvat. In this discussion came up the topic of JT Miller, a very controversial one.

The Canucks organization shocked everybody when they signed JT Miller to a seven-year, $56-million contract. This essentially voided any plan of keeping their captain, and cemented nearly a decade of Miller's antics.

Miller has had some very controversial moments this season, including meltdowns against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and towards his own goaltender, Colin Delia.

This has earned him a reputation for being a hot-headed toxic presence in the locker room. Pettersson obviously had to tread the line of correctness in his interview, but it is everpresently so obvious through his tone and diction that EP40 isn't a fan of his teammate.

You can listen to the clip here:

Just the quote we have our differences speaks volumes. With Miller under contract until he's 37, something will have to give.

Unfortunately, management locked themselves into this identity when they hastily signed Miller instead of pursuing the beloved Bo Horvat for only a few hundred thousand dollars more.

This mess isn't going away any time soon, but we will see how Pettersson handles it when he is inevitably given the 'C'.
