Jeff Gorton and the Canadiens pursuing the next Artemi Panarin?

Back in the day, when he was the general manager of the New York Rangers, Jeff Gorton pulled off quite a home run by picking up Artemi Panarin via the free agent market.
The Montreal Canadiens' big man would certainly have a trick up his sleeve to pull off the same kind of ploy with the Habs.
Why? Because Jonathan Huberdeau, who yes, has said he wants to sign long-term in Calgary, will become an UFA in the summer of 2023.
However, as columnist Marco D'Amico indicates, Gorton could very well do as he did with Panarin in 2019 and go get HIS best player, via the free agent market.
This will obviously be a case to watch! Huberdeau's next contract could be very lucrative, especially if he plays like he did last season in Florida.
