Jonathan Huberdeau, during his recent press conference, sent a hint to the Florida Panthers.
"They traded for me and they wanted me, and they were talking highly about me. You know, when you hear that, you want to play for a team that wants you and that's why it was so important to me (to sign long term)."
He bascially told the Panthers that the Flames wanted him because they spoke long term deal and Florida didn't.
Which makes you wonder. Why didn't the Panthers speak long term contract to Huberdeau? Was $10.5M AAV too much money for them?
