Long-Time NHL Veteran Retires From Hockey
Derek Stepan has decided to hang up his skates after a long and successful hockey career.
He was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the second-round of the 2008 NHL Draft and went on to play in New York for seven years. He was a dependable second-line player who put up at least 50 points in six different seasons.
He also played for the Arizona Coyotes, Ottawa Senators, and Carolina Hurricanes. Stepan played the final two seasons as a fourth liner with the Hurricanes.
Stepan scored 182 goals and 515 points in 890 regular season games, along with 55 points in 120 playoff games.
