The Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights have delivered tremendous entertainment to hockey fans in their best-of-seven semi-final series this week, with both teams splitting the opening four games. With a 2-2 tie, the series is now a best of three, with Game 5 scheduled for this evening. In a nutshell, it's been incredible.
And if you thought the on-ice action was entertaining, just wait till you see what happens behind the scenes. The Canadiens just released a video of general manager Marc Bergevin giving a fiery, F-bomb-filled tirade before the team's Game 3 OT victory.
Take a look:
That's fantastic!
I'm not sure how many other NHL general managers deliver speeches like this. Do you think Lou Lamoriello is going to get the New York Islanders' dressing room riled up tomorrow night? There's no way. But, I think, that's part of Bergevin's allure. You might criticize his bold choices throughout his time with the squad, but you can't argue he lacks passion. He, like everyone else, wants to win, and he wants to be the one to lead his team to victory. Bergevin isn't always my cup of tea, but this time I'll give him a nod.
