Major surgery for one of the best NHL defensive defenseman

Calgary Flames defenseman Chris Tanev will require shoulder surgery next week and will miss four to six months of action.
Tanev was injured in Game 6 against the Dallas Stars in the first round. Despite the pain, he played two games, Game 4 and Game 5 against the Edmonton Oilers.
The 32-year-old from Ontario is considered one of the best defensive players in the league with a +35 rating this season. In 82 regular season games, he has 28 points.
