The Toronto Maple leafs have been searching around for possible deals to improve their team heading into the playoffs.

It's reported that Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas is believed to be interested in Anaheim Ducks defenceman Josh Manson.

Josh Manson is a 30-year-old stay at home defender and a pending UFA at the end of the season with a $4,100,000 dollar annual salary.

Josh Manson is the type of player the Toronto Maple Leafs desperately need in their lineup with there constant issues of blowing leads and games they should of won.

Hockey insider Elliotte Friedman said that Josh Manson is very high on the Toronto Maple Leafs list of players they hope to add.

That being said Elliotte Friedman said other teams are also interested in Josh Manson saying,

"A couple of other notes, first of all Josh Manson was injured in our opener today... that will be an interesting one to watch in terms of how long he is going to be out," said Friedman. "He's an unrestricted free agent to be, there is interest and Toronto is one of the teams believed to be looking at Manson if he is interested in potentially coming there."

This might have to take some sweet talking to get Manson to come to Toronto because of the tighter Covid restrictions in Canada it's causing many players to decline moves to Canadian teams.

Josh Manson does have a 12 team no trade clause in his contract though Elliotte Friedman didn't name those teams it's believed Toronto isn't on that list. Toronto Maple Leafs might add another prospect or pick to the Anaheim Ducks for them to possibly retain salary if a trade does happen between the two teams.

Josh Manson has 3 goals and 4 assists in 43 games with the Anaheim Ducks this season. Manson was drafted in the 6th round 160th overall by the Ducks in 2011 NHL draft.
