Matthew Tkachuk Shows True Class Upon Returning to Calgary
Matthew Tkachuk's departure from the Calgary Flames was a difficult situation. After refusing to re-sign in Calgary, he was sent to the Florida Panthers in a blockbuster trade.
He returned to Calgary for the first time last night, and he showed true class to his former organization.
While chants in the audience were mostly negative, including one that said Huby's (Jonathan Huberdeau) better! , Tkachuk didn't cease to be a gentleman to his former teammates.
After throwing a hit on his long-time linemate Elias Lindholm, he helped Lindholm back into his feet. This type of gesture didn't go unnoticed by fans.
While Tkachuk may no longer be a fan favourite in Calgary, he will always have a soft spot for the team, and the city.
