Hockey players are well aware of the risks involved in the sport, and despite taking every precaution, injuries can still occur whenever they take to the ice.

Minnesota Wild Forward Suffers Gruesome Injury After 3 Knee Surgeries

During a game last night between the Minnesota Wild and the Vegas Golden Knights, a Wild forward collided awkwardly with the boards and required assistance to get back up, as shown in the following clip:

Just five minutes into the game, Mason Shaw of the Minnesota Wild suffered an apparent leg injury, rendering him unable to put any weight on that leg as he left the ice.

Shaw, who is only 24 years old, has already undergone three knee surgeries in his career but has always fought his way back to play for the Wild. He has recorded 7 goals and 10 assists for a total of 17 points in the 59 games he has played this season.

While any leg injury is devastating for a player, it is particularly heart-wrenching for Shaw, considering the obstacles he has already overcome to play in the NHL. We can only hope that the injury is not too severe and that he can make a speedy recovery and return to the ice.
