During an interview on BPM Sports, Jean-Charles Lajoie spoke with Pierre-Luc Dubois this morning. He also took the opportunity to ask him about his future and his interest in Montreal.
Dubois signed a one-year contract last summer with the Jets, worth $6 million.
He was asked if he was ready to sign a long-term contract. Here's what he said:
"Yeah! I think everything is on the table. When I signed a one-year contract, it was easy to jump to conclusions about what happened, but at the end of the day, a long-term contract is not just a contract, it's still your life. I wasn't ready last summer to sign long-term, but next summer it may be different. I wanted to focus on hockey for another season, not necessarily thinking about contracts and money."
JIC took the opportunity to ask him if he had any interest in Montreal, but Dubois remained very vague:
"Like I said, my goal last summer was to get ready for a good season here in Winnipeg. We had a disappointing season, so my goal was to go one year at a time. Now I have a one-year contract, next summer it will be next summer. Right now, things are going great in Winnipeg. That's all I can think about right now."
It is clear that the player did not want to wet himself and say much in connection with a possible future with the Canadiens.
