To find a partner for Evander Kane, the Sharks are calling around. The franchise has told other teams it is ready to keep half of Kane's $7 million salary. A third team could be engaged in a deal to further reduce Kane's pay for the acquiring team, according to reports
Kane is a productive player at $7 million, but at $1.75 million a year for three years, he's a steal. Kane's deal can be reduced to a very acceptable sum if two other teams get engaged with the Sharks.
The Sharks are in talks with many teams, including the Pittsburgh Penguins. They apparently want Kane and have a solid leadership group in place to keep things moving ahead.
For now, Kane will be riding the bus in the AHL, attempting to get back into shape and hoping for positive news from his agency.
