Bergevin is in the final year of his contract and has yet to sign an extension with the Habs. Normally, if a team's GM is doing a good job, the owner will extend his contract before the end of the season.
With Rob Blake as GM in Los Angeles, one would imagine Bergevin would want a change. He'd be joining his good friend Luc Robitaille in the Kings organisation, and getting closer to his long-time pal Pat Brisson.
Bergevin has taken a lot of risk in Montreal and last season it paid off. If the Habs miss the playoffs, i can guarantee you Bergevin will be leaving Montreal.
The kind of team Bergevin built in Montreal is the same style as the Kings.
(A big defensive core and a veteran offense)
