Shane Wright to the Canucks for Bo Horvat?
By the day, it becomes less and less likely that Bo Horvat will be a Vancouver Canuck next season. The captain is a pending unrestricted free agent, and with the team not willing to pay more than $56-million (what they paid JT Miller), it is logical that the team is pursuing a trade.
The ask for Horvat is a young centre, a young right-handed defenseman, and a 1st round pick.
When surveying teams that can provide such, the Seattle Kraken come to mind.
They also make a lot of sense due to positional need. The Kraken are outperforming all expectations, and Horvat would be a long-term piece for them.
The key thing, anybody that wants to do the Horvat deal, in my opinion, and I've talked to a couple of people about it (the ask) and it's been justified. Is that if you're going to give the assets the Canucks want, don't you want to have an agreement on principle with Horvat on a new deal?
The Kraken would likely have an extension set for Horvat in place already for a trade to occur.
What do you think about Shane Wright changing destinations for Horvat?
