Montreal Canadiens' young prospect Filip Mesar explained why he and his compatriot Juraj Slafkovsky were not on the list of players invited to Slovakia's World Junior Hockey Championship next month.
« The Canadians want me to prepare well for the upcoming season and not have any risk of injury. They told me I could make my own decision, but they don't want me to go. I'm still thinking about it, but I accept what they told me." -Filip Mesar
The Canadian made a request to the two youngsters: not to participate in the tournament. All this is in order to avoid an unnecessary injury, especially in the case of Slafkovsky, who should start the season in Montreal.
