Slafkovsky could earn RECORD bonuses with the Canadiens

Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes was very generous with first overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky.
With the signing of his contract, Slafkovsky will receive an annual bonus of $95,000 and a base salary of $855,000 (and $82,500 if he plays in the AHL). In addition, he will be eligible for $3.5 million in performance bonuses each season. Wow!
In total, per year, the Slovak could earn $4.45M annually.
Historically, Owen Power had between $25,000 and $1.85M in potential bonuses, while Alexis Lafreniere, Hughes and Connor McDavid could receive up to $2.85M.
