On Monday, the Blackhawks completed the first big trade of the off-season when they traded Duncan Keith and Tim Soderlund to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Caleb Jones and a third round pick in the 2022 auction.

This personnel move may suggest that the Hawks will be in the mix to acquire talented defenseman Seth Jones, Caleb's brother, who is expected to leave Columbus shortly. Bowman will want to address another issue, however, that seems to be a higher priority than Jones' older brother, as the team definitely needs a good goaltender.

On this subject, rumors are that Chicago would be very interested in acquiring the winner of the last Vézina trophy, Marc-André Fleury.

Once again, even though Fleury was named the best goalie in the NHL last season, his place as the number one goalie in Vegas does not seem to be secure. Too often we have seen Peter De Boer leave him out in favor of Robin Lehner. A change of scenery could be beneficial for Fleury, if of course he agrees to go. The Quebecer has a modified no-trade clause, which allows him to sort of choose his destination.

With the return of Jonathan Toews, who will likely be in great shape, and a good goalie, Chicago could become one of the NHL's good teams again. Imagine if that goalie is the excellent Marc-Andre Fleury and if Chicago could get the Jones brothers back together. The Hawks could make a big splash next season...
