The Montreal Canadiens might just have their goaltender for the rebuild already in their system. Meet goaltender Jakub Dobes, the Montreal Canadiens 5th round pick from the 2020 NHL Draft.
The Montreal Canadiens prospect goaltender Jakub Dobes, was just named the NCAA Big-10 division player of the week for the second straight week for the Ohio State Buckeyes hockey.
Jakub Dobes is killing it this season in NCAA hockey, this past weekend he had 2 great games making 46 saves in one game, then followed that up making 51 saves for the Ohio State Buckeyes. That's a good thing because the Habs have been given up around 50 shots lately.
Jakub Dobes is 6-foot-5, bigger then Habs Carey Price, he his 18-8 this season with a 1.98 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. If Jakub Dobes can keep developing at this pace he will be rocking that Habs jersey sooner rather then later.
With Carey Price's future uncertain and Cayden Primeau not coming up as the Canadiens had hoped, Jakub Dobes definitely will get looked at by the Canadiens GM Kent Hughes.
