Defenseman Tony DeAngelo, who will become a restricted free agent, has been given permission by the Hurricanes to store around to see if other teams might be interested in his services.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Canes are not close to a contract extension with Martin Necas. The latter is an independent player with compensation.
As for center Vincent Trocheck, Friedman says he will test the free agent market.
