According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Toronto Maple Leafs and their general manager Kyle Dubas are reportedly working behind the scenes to make a major move this summer.
"I think the Leafs will consider making a big trade or two this summer, at least one." - Elliotte Friedman
Among those on Toronto's radar is goalie John Gibson, who would be (according to Friedman) their top target.
Admittedly, current Leafs goalie Jack Campbell has had his ups and downs this season. On top of that, he will be a free agent this summer.
Explanations:
So don't be surprised if a trade materializes between the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Anaheim Ducks, including goalie Gibson.
John Gibson, 28, has a career 0.915% efficiency rate and a goals-against average of 2.67. All of this while serving as the starting goaltender for a rebuilding team for much of his career.
