The NHL Has Fined a Team a Massive Amount for Breaking League Rules
The NHL announced today that the Toronto Maple Leafs have been fined $100,000 for breaking the league's travel policy.
When the team accidentally travelled to St. Louis, they broke the accordance with the league.
In addition, head coach Sheldon Keefe was fined $25,000 for his recklessness on the bench during a game.
The NHL released this statement:
MAPLE LEAFS FINED $100.000
FOR VIOLATING COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
The National Hockey League announced today that it has fined the Toronto Maple Leafs' organization $100,000 for the team's travel to St. Louis on Dec. 26, 2022. This team activity was in violation of Article 16.5 (b) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL and the NHL Players' Association. The fine money goes to the NHL Foundation.
