The Pros and Cons the Oilers will face with Evander Kane
So the Edmonton Oilers pursued forward Evander Kane to join them. On paper he already makes them a better hockey club.
However Evander kane has a history that dates back till when he was member of the Atlanta Thrashers. Having players call him out for his attitude and feeling like he wouldn't give his full effort during games.
Let's not forget the incident where Evander Kane showed up late for practice in a track suit and the rest of the roster was dressed in suits.
Evander kane has made some mistakes in life but who hasn't? When asked about his past during last nights press conference Kane said,
"I think everyone in this room has probably made a lot of mistakes. They're just not documented. They're just not publicly recorded. They're not questioned."
"It was like Joey Chestnut saying, Hey, we've all had the odd hot dog."
There's also been the allegations that Kane assaulted both men and women multiple times, not to mention the accusations from Evander kane's ex wife. Rumors of domestic violence and betting on his own NHL games for personal gain, the NHL couldn't find enough evidence of the accusations.
Kane's has to prove to the fans and media that he can still be a great addition to his hockey team.

Kane would go on to talk about more about his past and hoping a better outcome in Edmonton saying:
"It's easy to look at me, just because the storylines are that I have always been the destructive one."
" To say that I didn't get along with everyone in the locker room is incredibly false. It's less than a handful of guys Kane said. «It goes both ways. When there are leaks coming from your dressing room to the media, I wouldn't say that is good active leadership, or being a productive teammate. And they definitely didn't come from me. "
Evander Kane also told the media that he is currently undergoing counseling and hopes that it helps him with his future to make better decisions.
But it looks like Evander Kane still hasn't manned up to his bad decisions in past. When asked by a reporter about the past with him former clubs asking,
"You left your past teams under cloudy circumstances what will be different in Edmonton? "
To which Kane replied,
«I don't know that I would necessarily agree in terms of, everywhere I've been I've left under cloudy circumstances,» began Kane. «Yes, definitely different things have happened through the course of certain tenures in certain places. You know, there are a lot of guys who play for a lot more teams than just three. So I'm not alone there.»
« You know, I view myself as a leader,» Kane continued. "
«I've had a lot of experience on and off the ice, and I try to share those experiences with guys on the team. Try to help them not to make the same mistakes that I have."
Edmonton Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse had some high priase on Evander kane joining the Oilers saying,
" He's big, strong, he has a physical presence. He's willing to fight anyone,» said Oilers alternate captain Darnell Nurse. «Anytime he gets the puck in the right spots it's in the back of the net. With the passers and playmakers we have on the team, adding that into the fold makes our team better. "
Evander Kane would go on to say, " I like to play with an edge and a bit of a mean streak,» said Kane
Evander Kane will make his debut debut Saturday Night, in the Bell Centre vs the the Montreal Canadiens.
