We know that the Tampa Bay Lightning will have to reduce its payroll before the start of the next campaign, which means that some players will not be back. David Savard, Barclay Goodrow and Blake Coleman, who gave the Bolts great service, will not be back, but it will not be enough to make the club managed by Julien BriseBois compliant. Hence the rumors that are raining down here and there about the club.

According to Randy Timmins, who is not a Darren Dreger or a Pierre LeBrun, it is important to specify, Marc Bergevin and BriseBois would have begun a dialogue to conclude a transaction that would suit both sides. It makes sense since the Lightning will have to leave a ton of good players unprotected, so instead of losing too much on the deal, BriseBois was looking for assets for one of them.

The player in question would not be Alex Killorn, again according to Timmins, who, I remind you, does not have the reputation of a renowned insider. Hence why I don't swallow his report whole. But, if we play the game, could the player in question be Ryan McDonagh, one of the best defensive defensemen in the league, who was selected in the first round in 2007 by the Montreal Canadiens?
