Although he's been able to stay out of trouble for his career, it seems the legal system finally got ahold of Jaromir Jagr.

Known for his legendary hair, elite offensive abilities, and for having a seemingly never-ending engine, Jaromir Jagr has etched his name in the history of professional hockey as one of the greatest to ever do it, and it would be hard to find anyone who argues against it.

While he was able to stay out of trouble in his NHL career, Jagr is currently facing legal troubles in his home country of the Czech Republic, as he is now at the center of some controversy. Per reports, Jagr has been accused of skipping out on a six-month lease payment for the arena in which his team, the Kladno Knights play their home games.

Jagr has been given until the end of the season to sort out the lease dispute, and this situation left the Mayor of Kladno, Milan Volf, to question the amount and why Jagr has been so adamant with his refusal to hold up his end of the deal:

"So we have to wonder why Jaromir Jagr is not able to honor his year-long contract and pay two million crowns ($86,000 USD) compared to the roughly 40 million crowns ($1.7 million USD) the contract brought him."

There could be underlying financial issues that have plagued Kladno that people are unaware of, however, it's not too much of an ask to pay rent in order to keep your arena. It seems Mayor Volf and the residents of Kladno are giving Jagr a long leash when it comes to this issue, and for someone who has made over $120M in his career, it's stunning to see him worried about less than $100k.

Jagr, who ranks second all-time on the NHL's points list with 1,921, has built a legendary career over a 24-year NHL career, not to mention all of the time spent playing in Europe. Known as one of the greatest players of all-time, and the greatest international hockey player to ever exist, this hopefully will not put a blemish on an otherwise fairly sterling career.

It remains to be seen if Jagr will pay what he owes, but it would be in the best interest for him to pay up; not only because of his team, but for the community and the country that holds him in such high regard.
