Nikita Kucherov's suspension fate revealed after hit on Kaiden Guhle
Nikita Kucherov has been a hot topic of conversation in the NHL over the last few hours due to his vicious hit on Kaiden Guhle.
While he had a standout performance, with three points that led the Tampa Bay Lightning to a big win, many were wondering whether he would face the wrath of the Department of Player Safety due to this hit.
His fate has now been confirmed.
The videos pretty clearly show that Guhle had no way of defending himself from the hit, and that Kucherov hit him directly into the numbers right into the boards.
«I mean, it's not like Guhle turned at the last second there. He was facing the glass the whole way. In fact, it's when he was turning to get back to sideways that Kucherov turned him back towards the glass and finished his hit. That's boarding»
Unfortunately for Canadiens fans, who have hated Nikita Kucherov ever since the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals, it appears no supplemental discipline will be coming.
«Not expecting any supplementary discipline for Nikita Kucherov.»
If Kaiden Guhle is injured, which is entirely possible considering he did not return to last night's game, it will be a truly crushing blow for the Canadiens.
He has emerged as a true first-pairing defenseman this season against some of the harshest competition in the league.
We will see what updates come over the next hours.
