Utah HC parts with prospects Jeremy Langlois, Filip Barklund and Elliot Ekefjard
Utah HC is officially parting ways with Jeremy Langlois, Filip Barklund, and Elliot Ekefjard as they will be electing not to sign any of the three prospects.
With the Arizona Coyotes relocating to Utah, many changes are coming for the franchise. It was reported today that Utah HC will not be signing three prospects whose rights expire this year: Jeremy Langlois, Filip Barklund, and Elliot Ekefjard.
Utah (formerly the Coyotes) has no plans to sign any of its three players on this list by today's deadline: Jérémy Langlois, Filip Barklund and Elliot Ekefjärd.
Barklund and Ekefjard both look quite unlikely to make the NHL as they have struggled to develop since being drafted in 2020 in the 6th and 7th rounds respectively.
Langlois looks to be a big loss for Utah as he led the QMJHL in goals among defensemen this past year and scored 62 points in 61 games. A player that has developed nicely since being drafted, it appears that things may have gone sour between Langlois and the Coyotes/Utah.
Langlois will now likely sign a deal with another NHL team and likely play in the AHL next year before making the jump to the NHL if he ever does.
