The move of the Arizona Coyotes to Utah has sparked a lot of emotions, especially considering they've been playing in a smaller venue for years. Yet, with the 2024-25 season on the horizon, players can expect a raucous atmosphere. Reports indicate that NHL Utah has sold over 6,000 season tickets in just two hours since opening sales. Putting that into perspective, Mullet Arena housed 5,000.
Even though Utah is uncharted territory for the NHL, it's evident that fans are ready to embrace hockey in their state. It looks like they're on their way to reaching 10,000 season ticket holders or more in a Delta Center.
The plan is to renovate the arena, currently the home of the Utah Jazz, and reach 17,000 seats.
And with an upstart roster featuring rising stars like Josh Doan, Clayton Keller, and Logan Cooley, there's a lot of anticipation for a playoff push this summer.
While the team is still working on branding and hasn't made any official announcements about uniforms or colors, the buzz surrounding hockey's arrival in this new market is electrifying. It's shaping up to be an exhilarating summer as excitement builds for the upcoming 2024-25 NHL season in Utah.
