Florida Panthers fans mock the Maple Leafs with familiar chant
Tonight the Florida Panthers fans used their win and success against the Toronto Maple Leafs to troll the Maple Leafs and their fans. To do so the Panthers' fans started chanting 'we want Florida'. A chant started by Maple Leafs fans last season.
Last season the Florida Panthers snuck into the postseason and had to play the juggernaut Boston Bruins. As the Toronto Maple Leafs won their first round series last year the fans were chanting we want Florida. The Maple Leafs fans got their wish but ended up choking away another season losing to the Panthers.
Tonight during the team's final regular season matchup the Florida Panthers fans clapped back at the Maple Leafs. With the game well locked up the Panthers fans began to chant 'we want Florida' mocking their opponents fans.
Despite the chants, the two teams will not see each other to begin the playoffs. Instead, the Toronto Maple Leafs will play the Boston Bruins. As for the Florida Panthers, they get an in-state rival the Tampa Bay Lightning. If we are lucky both teams could see one another later down the line.
