Yesterday, the Leafs played against the Bruins in a game with playoff-like intensity.

In the loss, Ilya Samsonov delivered an exceptional performance. He managed to save 31 of the 33 shots that the Bruins fired his way. Sheldon Keefe commented on his game.
Keefe Praises Samsonov After Tough Loss
Losing is never fun. But when asked about Samsonov, Keefe had some kind words for the Russian goalie.
"He was solid. Very solid. There wasn't much offense to go around for either team tonight. Both teams defended incredibly hard. He was solid. He didn't let anything in that he shouldn't have. In games like this, that's what you're asking for."

TSN analyst Craig Button also had some great comments towards him.
"Ilya Samsonov is not just the #1 goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs; he's among the best goaltenders in the National Hockey League."
This is a solid confidence boost for the goalie. The playoffs are fast approaching, and with Matt Murray still injured, Ilya Samsonov will likely see more action than expected.
Ilya Samsonov has had a great year. His impressive 25-10-5 record through 40 games, coupled with a .916 save percentage and 2.40 GAA, proves that he can lead the Leafs in the playoffs until Murray's return.
