Another rumor is spreading concerning Erik Karlsson!

The most recent Norris winner has been involved in yet another trade scenario that gets him out of San Jose.

Karlsson Meant to Play in Pittsburgh?

This rumor links Karlsson to the Penguins once again. The aging core of Crosby, Letang, and Malkin will need to hurry if they want to bring another Cup to Pittsburgh.

Kyle Dubas, the new President of Hockey Operations of the team, needs to do everything in his power to help them.

The obvious way to do that is getting Erik Karlsson.

Trade Scenario

A similar deal was proposed a while back, but Jeff Petry seemed to get in the way of it happening.

It was reported that he absolutely didn't want to play in San Jose, blocking Dubas' plans to get Karlsson.

That's why a three-team trade seems inevitable.

Here's what was proposed by Hockey Feed:

"To Pittsburgh Penguins:

Erik Karlsson
Sharks retain $4.5 million per season for the remaining four years of Karlsson's contract (39 percent)

To San Jose Sharks:

Ty Smith
Sam Poulin
Penguins' 2025 second-round pick (will upgrade to the first-round pick if Pittsburgh wins either the 2024 or 2025 Stanley Cup, and Karlsson plays at least half of the playoff games in the championship-winning run)

To Chicago Blackhawks:

Jeff Petry
Penguins' 2024 first-round pick (top-5 protected)."

If Petry wants to play in Chicago, and the Blackhawks are willing to take him, it could be a great solution to bring in Karlsson.

Would you make that three-team trade?
