It was recently announced that many of their aging defense and forward core were available, and now Tristan Jarry may be added to the mix.
3 Potential Trade Destinations for Penguins' Tristan Jarry
On the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Elliote Friedman dropped Tristan Jarry as a trade candidate. There is some interesting teams Jarry could land, who need a definite #1 goaltender.
Mentioned among these teams are the Vancouver Canucks who have committed to a rebuild. With Jarry being from Vancouver and familiar with the coaching staff, this would be ideal for the young goalie. Also mentioned are the Anaheim Ducks, who are going to try and move the expensive veteran, who'd be costlier than Thatcher Demko, but a reliable option.
Last but not least is the cap dump in the desert, the Arizona Coyotes who would move anyone to help the rebuild move forward and Karel Vejmelka is a solid goalie, with a cheap cap hit at $2.7 Million AAV who could thrive in Pittsburgh.
Jarry is a pending UFA who will be expecting a significant pay raise from his current $3.5 Million AAV, so any team who does acquire Jarry will have to make the cap work and an extension shouldn't be a question if you want to lock him down for a term longer than a year.
