TRADE: #LetsGoBuffalo acquires F Beck Malenstyn from #ALLCAPS for Pick #43 (2nd round)

The Sabres have acquired forward Beck Malentsyn from the Capitals for a second-round pick, 43rd overall, in the 2024 draft.

Had six goals with 21 points in 81 games. Fifth among all NHL forwards in shorthanded ice time and led Capitals with 93 blocked shots . He's a RFA.

The Sabres had been looking for size and depth for their forward group and they get it with Beck Malenstyn. At 26 years old he had 21 points in 81 games which is underwhelming for giving up a second-round pick.

With being just 26 there's potential that Beck Malenstyn could find another level of offense and success. He also fits the defensive forward role they are looking to fill. If the Sabres end up making the playoffs this could look like a great move if not it could cost Kevyn Adams his job.
