Buffalo Sabres now frontrunner to acquire Erik Karlsson
If Erik Karlsson gets traded, it will shake the NHL to it's core. He will become the highest-paid player to ever be traded, which is even crazier in a flat-cap league.
NHL Insider Craig Button made it very clear. Due to his $11.5-million cap-hit, only one interested team can feasibly acquire him - the Buffalo Sabres.
Imagining a defensive corps of Erik Karlsson, Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power, and Mattias Samuelsson, the Sabres will have to be a cup contender sooner rather than later.
They have loads of young prospects and picks, and if they decide EK65 is a player they want, they'll make it happen.
It will be very exciting to watch.
