Friedman Links Top Defenseman To Leafs
With the Calgary Flames looking to start a fire sale, the Leafs could potentially scoop up one of their top defenders for cheap.
Zadorov Linked To Leafs
Yesterday Flames GM Craig Conroy made it clear what direction the Flames are heading. They traded their top scorer, Tyler Toffoli for only Yegor Sharangovich and a 3rd round pick.
With it looking like the Flames are getting ready to sell everything off, the Leafs could capitalize and acquire top defenseman Nikita Zadorov from the Flames.
Elliotte Friedman linked the Leafs to Zadorov recently which makes much sense from an outsider's perspective.
Why it is a good fit
Brad Treliving would acquire a defenseman who played well for him in Calgary and would get to do more business with him in Toronto. Zadorov is also relatively cheap considering the value he brings to the Flames.
The 500+ game veteran could provide a solid defensive game for the Leafs which would be much needed with Mark Giordano potentially retiring after next year.
